The Center for Advanced Studies in Southeastern Europe (CAS – SEE) at University of Rijeka is offering CAS SEE Rijeka Fellowship for spring 2016. These fellowships are open to worldwide young scholars and leading senior researchers.

The purpose of the CAS SEE Fellowship Programme is to further the research or creative work in the humanities and humanistic social sciences in the Balkans.

CAS-SEE is an organizational unit of the University of Rijeka which specializes in scientific research in the social sciences and humanities. The vision of the Center is to promote freedom of research and to ensure the necessary prerequisites for innovative, intellectual and scientific development.

Applicants need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

Course Level: Fellowships are awarded to undertake research programme.

Study Subject: The Fellowships are mainly offered in the fields of the humanities and social sciences but may also be granted to scholars in life and exact sciences, provided that their proposed research project does not require laboratory facilities and that it interfaces with humanities and social sciences.

Scholarship Award: CAS SEE Rijeka Fellows are invited to spend two to ten months in Rijeka in accordance with the length and the complexity of their research project. Fellowship includes:
-Living allowances in the range of € 1,100 per month for a fellow
-Support for accommodation expenses
-A research budget in accordance with the research proposal
-And travel expenses (one round trip)

Scholarship can be taken at: Croatia

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following guidelines:
Degree: At the time of the application, researchers must be in possession of a doctoral degree. Nationality: Researchers from all countries are eligible to the programme.
Disciplines: The programme is open to all disciplines in the fields of humanities and social sciences. It also welcomes applications from the arts, life and exact sciences provided that: the research project does not require any intensive laboratory work, the research project interfaces with humanities and social sciences, the applicant has a proven capacity to dialogue with other scientific disciplines.
Age: There is no age limit for applying to CAS SEE Rijeka Fellowship Programme.

Nationality: Researchers from all countries are eligible to the programme.

Entrance Requirement: Researchers must be in possession of a doctoral degree at the time of the application,

English Language Requirement: Applicants need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

International Scholarships

Supporting Material: A complete application includes:
-a filled-in application form,
-a copy of CV,
-a description of intended research project (1500-2000 words),
-a personal statement (up to 500 words).
